Rentals
Our boats, your afternoon.
We rent our own Hobie 14s and Hobie 16s. Take one out as a bare boat or with a skipper, for a few hours or, if you prefer, the whole day. The Tiger isn't part of the rental fleet.
Bare-boat rental
For sailors we've assessed as experienced enough to go alone.
Skippered charter
One of our sailors helms. Ideal if you've never sailed.

Lessons
Learn on the lagoon.
Our courses give non-sailors a full introduction to Hobie sailing and take you right up to being a competent skipper or crew, for casual sailing or racing, whichever you prefer. The lagoon is the ideal venue for learning, practising and racing.
Lessons are on our Hobie 16s. The Hobie 14 is too small to learn on and the Tiger is a boat for experienced sailors, so neither is used for teaching. Ask us about lesson times and prices.
Rental requirements
Before you take a boat out.
A Hobie is a quick boat and the lagoon gets windy. These are the conditions every rental is booked on.
We assess your experience first
On the beach, before anyone goes out.
Bare boat only if you're up to it
Otherwise one of our skippers comes with you.
You rig and de-rig the boat
Unless you're out with a Hobie Cape instructor.
Hobie 14s and 16s only
The Tiger isn't part of the rental fleet.
Minimum two hours
Or book the whole day.
Gear is provided
Wetsuits, harnesses and buoyancy aids. Bring your own gloves.
The weather call is ours
Unsuitable conditions mean a new time or date, not a refund.

Do I need to be experienced?
No. Inexperienced sailors can enjoy a Hobie with a skipper as part of the booking, but they won't be allowed to sail alone. We assess everyone's level of experience before they go out.
Do we have to rig the boat?
Yes, unless you're out with a Hobie Cape instructor. Rigging and de-rigging your own boat is part of how we assess experience and competence.
Are wetsuits and gear provided?
Yes. We have a limited range of wetsuits, plus harnesses and buoyancy aids. Gloves aren't supplied.
Can we rent for a short time?
Rentals are a minimum of 2 hours.
What if the weather doesn't play along?
If the weather is unsuitable before a charter, rental or lesson starts, we move it to another time or date. No refunds are issued.
